Unbock Car

Welcome to another installment of Appy Monday, this week we are bringing to you a clinker of a puzzle game. Like all good puzzle games the concept is very straight forward but actually completing the puzzles can be tricky. Bring on Unblock Car the goal of Unblock Car is to get the red car out of the car park by rearranging the other coloured  cars.

There are dozens of other sliding puzzle games on the Android platform but what I like about Unblock Car are its graphics and how smooth the game runs. The game is well built and it shows. The cars are well drawn as are the icons and displays of the interface.  The sliding puzzle peices can really be anything but making them cars stuck in a car park was quite clever. Incidentally there are a number of different them if you don’t like the cars just swap them!

Unblock Car

Gameplay as I said earlier about any good puzzle game is straight forward, but Unblock Car does get tricky from the outset. Each level is timed and number of moves are recorded so you can go back and try to improve your performance. There are 2000 levels on the game so you’ll be busy for sometime if you take the challenge of beating them all, you also have the option of easy, normal and hard…. I recommend easy just to start!

Boom!! Have an Appy Monday!

Flow Free

For this week’s Appy Monday we have another puzzle game, Flow should leave you happier than last weeks installment! There were reports of shear frustration with some levels of 100 Doors!

So to get your Monday off to an ‘appyier’ start, Flow is alot less taxing on the brain cells.
In a nutshell, Flow is a connect the dots game. There is a grid with pairs of coloured dots, you have to draw a line connecting each coloured pair, but you can’t cross lines or the flow will break.

As you start moving up the levels the grids get bigger, making working out how to join the dots that bit more complex. There are 300 levels, it’ll be level 80 or 90 before things get hairy with grids reaching 8×8 and 9×9 in size.

Flow Free

You can also play the game in time trial mode where you race against the clock to finish each level, this gives a faster paced dimension to a game where in the regular mode you can take the to contemplate your next move.

Download Flow Free on google play, it’s a great game just to pick up if you have a minute or two to play a level. That said it can be addictive! And remember… have yourself an Appy Monday

100 Doors is basically a puzzle app. It is based on a number of other similar games on the android platform namely 100 Floors in that 100 Doors uses doors and 100 Floors uses floors…. do you follow??

100 Doors

Escape the room is the idea…. you start each level confronted by a closed door, you must use the objects, images or hints around the room to unlock the door and escape to the next level. You might say the next level is more difficult but that depends on how your brain works! For example, some levels took me an ice age to solve, whereas the very next level the solution jumped out at me straight away… there is also the chance you might solve the level by accident. (you’ll have to play it to realise what I mean)

Play ability is great, pretty addictive, once you solve a level you could possibly use that solution or that idea on another level. So the learning aspect drives you on when you get stuck on a particular level. That said 100 Doors is known for being quite tough, a good bit tougher than 100 Floors, (by the way, as of writing 100 Floors had over 5 million downloads and 100 Doors half a million on Google Play) It’s like the hardcore version of 100 Floors, so you have been warned…!

Build and graphic quality are well, lets just say Pixar didn’t design it…. but then again you don’t need super 3 dimensional images and animations that make your eyeballs tumble in their sockets! There are  few minor glitches when refreshing or transitioning to another level but the game works and that’s the main thing.

Overall a good puzzle game, well worth downloading if you few a minutes to spare in the day, those minutes could easily turn to hours of frustration trying to solve some levels!!
