It has been reported that the sales of Samsung Galaxy S 2 are already ahead of the original Samsung Galaxy S. Samsung Inc has just announced that they have accumulated global sales of 1.5 million in just 85 days. That is no less than 40 days faster than the original Samsung Galaxy S.

The Samsung Galaxy S 2 is faster and more efficient than its predecessor with a super 4.3” Amoled Touch screen. It operates on the latest android platform version of 2.3.3. The device features a 3.5mm audio jack with a large storage memory of 16 GB or 32 GB. It is loaded with a 1.2 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. The Galaxy S 2 features Wifi, Edge and HD quality 8 mega pixel cameras with geo tagging options and 1080p video recording options. It is added with Bluetooth version of 3.0 and a 2MP secondary camera. It is currently the thinnest smart phone on the market at only 9.9mm thick. It weighs on 119 grams. The device keeps getting automatic updates for Android and you can access thousands of Android apps available free in the market. It is all in all an excellent smart phone which is beautiful and powerful at the same time.

The Galaxy S 2 has acquired 56% of the mobile phone market share in Korea, and it’s the most popular mobile phone in 10 European countries. It is definitively one of the best phones on the market to date for features, style and power.

Rumors about Samsung Galaxy S2

For some months rumors about the new Galaxy S mobile phone – Samsung I9200 are going around the web. But now these rumors seem more and more real because there are leaked pictures and specifications. If the specifications are true, this will be one monster handset.

The leaked specifications of the Galaxy S2, which is not yet confirmed by anyone official, are:

  • 4,3-inch Super AMOLED 2 display running at  resolution of 1280x720px and 340dpi (this will definitely blow my mind – it will probably be the best display ever)
  • 2GHz processor (twice more than the current high-end phones or maybe Samsung are going to use Tegra2?)
  • 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM and up to 32GB storage via microSD card
  • 8MP camera capable of recording HD video recording
  • Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, A-GPS
  • Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and all other types of sensors available in most Android devices on the market
  • Running on Android 3.0 OS

The handset is expected to hit the markets in Q1 2011. I don’t know if these specifications are real or not, but everyone else – HTC, Motorola have announced their future devices for the early 2011 but Samsung remains silent. This makes me think that they are preparing something big and specifications like this may be really present in the upcoming Samsung handsets.
