Rope n Fly

Hello there and welcome to another installment of Appy Monday!

This week we have a game that requires a certain amount of skill, think spiderman and his webs. Rope’n’ Fly- From Dusk Till Dawn is the sequel to Rope ‘n’ Fly an already very very popular game in the app store.

You are  a rag doll, that can swing from skyscraper to skyscraper with the aid of ropes. cast out a rope to attach to a building and start swinging then tap again to release it, creat momentum to throw you tot he next skyscraper where you can throw another rope, propelling you through the sky…. well that the plan!

In addition to skyscrapers you can attach your rope to balloons or planes, these will help you finish the level quicker thus gaining a higher score and beating your friends who you can compete against online.

The game is riddle with various jump achievements to gain extra points. But remember the rag doll is destructible so if he falls its lights out.

Check out the video trailer below of the game, you can download the Rope ‘n’ Fly for free on Google Play. Oh yeah… Have yourself an Appy Monday

100 Doors is basically a puzzle app. It is based on a number of other similar games on the android platform namely 100 Floors in that 100 Doors uses doors and 100 Floors uses floors…. do you follow??

100 Doors

Escape the room is the idea…. you start each level confronted by a closed door, you must use the objects, images or hints around the room to unlock the door and escape to the next level. You might say the next level is more difficult but that depends on how your brain works! For example, some levels took me an ice age to solve, whereas the very next level the solution jumped out at me straight away… there is also the chance you might solve the level by accident. (you’ll have to play it to realise what I mean)

Play ability is great, pretty addictive, once you solve a level you could possibly use that solution or that idea on another level. So the learning aspect drives you on when you get stuck on a particular level. That said 100 Doors is known for being quite tough, a good bit tougher than 100 Floors, (by the way, as of writing 100 Floors had over 5 million downloads and 100 Doors half a million on Google Play) It’s like the hardcore version of 100 Floors, so you have been warned…!

Build and graphic quality are well, lets just say Pixar didn’t design it…. but then again you don’t need super 3 dimensional images and animations that make your eyeballs tumble in their sockets! There are  few minor glitches when refreshing or transitioning to another level but the game works and that’s the main thing.

Overall a good puzzle game, well worth downloading if you few a minutes to spare in the day, those minutes could easily turn to hours of frustration trying to solve some levels!!

color android app
I’m really excited about this new android app from Bill Nguyen, it’s basically an app that allows you to take photos or videos and share them on a social network…. thats nothing new I hear you say…. whats different about Color is that it’s location based, meaning when you upload the photos/videos to the cloud the content automatically gets shared with people within 100 feet of your location…. cool or crazy you decide!!!

It’s whats called an elastic network, people are continually leaving or joining your network based on their proximity to your location. Color also ranks your friendship with these people, so the more you use the app around the same people the higher up your friendship rank goes and vice a versa.

Ok step it up a gear… imagine Color being used in a crowded area such as a concert, festival, a bar or a well known tourist attraction like Times Square… you are gonna be continually connected to friends and strangers all taking pictures or even videos of the same things but from different angles, sort of an augmented reality, see a concert stage in real time from various peoples points of view, you are basically looking through the eyes of a stranger!

Color I hope will explode to the main stream and it looks like it will, after getting $41 million in funding, $25 million of that coming from the ever adventurous Sequoia Capital.

Color is available for iPhone and Android, download it here
