Unbock Car

Welcome to another installment of Appy Monday, this week we are bringing to you a clinker of a puzzle game. Like all good puzzle games the concept is very straight forward but actually completing the puzzles can be tricky. Bring on Unblock Car the goal of Unblock Car is to get the red car out of the car park by rearranging the other coloured  cars.

There are dozens of other sliding puzzle games on the Android platform but what I like about Unblock Car are its graphics and how smooth the game runs. The game is well built and it shows. The cars are well drawn as are the icons and displays of the interface.  The sliding puzzle peices can really be anything but making them cars stuck in a car park was quite clever. Incidentally there are a number of different them if you don’t like the cars just swap them!

Unblock Car

Gameplay as I said earlier about any good puzzle game is straight forward, but Unblock Car does get tricky from the outset. Each level is timed and number of moves are recorded so you can go back and try to improve your performance. There are 2000 levels on the game so you’ll be busy for sometime if you take the challenge of beating them all, you also have the option of easy, normal and hard…. I recommend easy just to start!

Boom!! Have an Appy Monday!

Fifteen Puzzle X

Fifteen Puzzle X is a modern take or some might say a software take on an old hardware version of the Fifteen Puzzle.
The basic game is made up of 15 tiles placed in a grid and jumbled up, your job is to solve the puzzle by sliding the tiles and arrange them in order…. It’s all coming back now isn’t it!
Fifteen Puzzle X does an excellent job at recreating the game, sliding the tiles is fluid and responsive, a key factor in such a game. There a good few options aswell such as different styles or skins for the boards. You can play with numbers, Roman numerals or letters. To test your skill further there are 2 bigger boards a 5 by 5 board and a 6 by 6 board. (Beginners board is 4 by 4)

One gripe I do have and a user mentioned it in google play comments is, when you finish a game the screen flicks back to the menu screen and you don’t get a chance to marvel over your completed puzzle.
An added feature I would like to see is the option to add an image or photo to the grid, so you can literally rearrange your face!! All in all a great app, well worth the download. – Oh Yeah… Have yourselves an Appy Monday!

Rope n Fly

Hello there and welcome to another installment of Appy Monday!

This week we have a game that requires a certain amount of skill, think spiderman and his webs. Rope’n’ Fly- From Dusk Till Dawn is the sequel to Rope ‘n’ Fly an already very very popular game in the app store.

You are  a rag doll, that can swing from skyscraper to skyscraper with the aid of ropes. cast out a rope to attach to a building and start swinging then tap again to release it, creat momentum to throw you tot he next skyscraper where you can throw another rope, propelling you through the sky…. well that the plan!

In addition to skyscrapers you can attach your rope to balloons or planes, these will help you finish the level quicker thus gaining a higher score and beating your friends who you can compete against online.

The game is riddle with various jump achievements to gain extra points. But remember the rag doll is destructible so if he falls its lights out.

Check out the video trailer below of the game, you can download the Rope ‘n’ Fly for free on Google Play. Oh yeah… Have yourself an Appy Monday

Flow Free

For this week’s Appy Monday we have another puzzle game, Flow should leave you happier than last weeks installment! There were reports of shear frustration with some levels of 100 Doors!

So to get your Monday off to an ‘appyier’ start, Flow is alot less taxing on the brain cells.
In a nutshell, Flow is a connect the dots game. There is a grid with pairs of coloured dots, you have to draw a line connecting each coloured pair, but you can’t cross lines or the flow will break.

As you start moving up the levels the grids get bigger, making working out how to join the dots that bit more complex. There are 300 levels, it’ll be level 80 or 90 before things get hairy with grids reaching 8×8 and 9×9 in size.

Flow Free

You can also play the game in time trial mode where you race against the clock to finish each level, this gives a faster paced dimension to a game where in the regular mode you can take the to contemplate your next move.

Download Flow Free on google play, it’s a great game just to pick up if you have a minute or two to play a level. That said it can be addictive! And remember… have yourself an Appy Monday

How would you feel if somebody says that there will be a time when a user will be able to run android applications on a Windows desktop? The title of this article also says the same thing and yes, it seems that there will be a time in the near future that even windows desktop users will be able to play android games on their machines.

The company BlueStacks have announced that they will help PC users to take advantage of momentum generated by Android ecosystem by enabling them to run Android applications on their x-86 machines including notebooks, tablets and AOI computers. With this convertible form factor, the company is looking to reduce the dependency of certain applications on certain platforms allowing users to carry only a single device at a time. This will also benefit PC manufacturers to boost the machines lifetime and their margins as well.

For users, BlueStacks will make it easier to find and install Android apps from the windows desktop. Moreover, BlueStacks is also looking to tie up with online stores like Amazon, Slideme or Getjar from which users can buy android apps and can install them on multiple tablets, phones and PCs.

With this new development, even broader businesses are expected to get advantages. Rather than looking out for honeycomb tablets, businesses will look to run particular applications on the standard x86 machines. More importantly, .apk files from Android will be converted to .msi package files which will make its distribution and installation quite easy. It will also allow IT administrators to schedule the launch and installation of dedicated apps according to requirement.
