LG Axis

Manufactured by LG Electronics the Axis or LGAS740 as its codenamed is a mid range smart phone running Android 2.1 (Eclair). The Axis is one of a series of generic phones each uniquely branded for different carriers, the Axis being branded for Cellular South in the USA. Other names include the Ally and the Apex.

All the phones share the same hardware specs including a full slide out qwerty hardware keyboard that incorporates a d-pad and a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash that allows full 360 degree panoramic photos.

Shipped with 2.1 the Axis can be upgraded to Android 2.2 this is largely dependent on the carrier, each carrier have designed unique software themes layered on top of the Android OS providing different customizations and widgets.
